The BuilderBot
Ethan Cole is working another quiet night as a security guard when a meteor streaks across the sky and impacts nearby. He retrieves what landed and takes it home. To his surprise, it then connects to his phone, accesses his computer, and gives him plans for a machine called a BuilderBot.
Ethan has no laboratory, no investors, and no idea why the Seed chose him. Using the money his late wife left him, he buys an abandoned bottling property and begins constructing the machine one component at a time.
The BuilderBot is only the beginning. The Luma sent the Seed because an alien civilization called the Radiant is moving toward Earth. The Radiant draw life from light and exterminate species that survive by consuming other living things. Earth is exactly what they despise—and nowhere near ready.
